Georgia Resident and Non-resident Renewals
The
State of Georgia has amended its state statutes and procedures regarding
agent license renewals.
Effective
immediately, all Georgia resident and non-resident license renewal
applications will be sent out in September 2004 to all licensed
agents.
The
renewals are due back to the state of Georgia by November 1st, which
means that all Continuing Education hours should be completed by
September 30th to allow time for the providers to submit the completed
hours to the states, and to allow the states ample time to update
their systems.
Although agent
licenses list December 31, 2004 as the expiration date, per state
rules, this date is no longer valid, and this new procedure is not
just for the current renewal period, it is a permanent change by
the state of Georgia.
Please
note that the state will not renew a resident or non-resident license
if the continuing education hours have not been completed. Should
this be the case, the resident or non-resident agent will not be
allowed to conduct insurance related business until the license
has been properly renewed by the state of Georgia.
