Background Checks

As part of the licensing and appointment process for agents and agencies, some states and insurance carriers require background checks on firms and/or agents applying for an insurance license or appointment. MGL has contracted with General Information Services to conduct background checks that may be required by the State Insurance Department or the individual

insurance carrier depending on the state requirements. We are able to obtain immediate turnaround time for some portions of the background check, while this firm is able to send a full background check within 72 hours in most cases. MGL handles this process only upon written authorization from the agent or agency. Any information obtained remains strictly confidential between the agent/agency and MGL.
